The Crown Hotel at Buninyong was the setting for the 2 annual car show held today with a good turn-out considering the skies looked threatening all day with the sun making a brief appearance to through some much needed warmth over the show. The variety of rides on show, which included cars and bikes, varied widely from the latest Sandman panelvan to a rare Barnes Special 3 wheeler. A live 3 piece band kept the tunes rolling throughout the day and a great lunch could be had at the pub. As usual, see you all there next year!

American Breed car show, Manhattan hotel, Ringwood
G’day all!
The Manhattan Hotel in Ringwood was again the setting for the annual American Muscle Car show put on by the good people of the 60s American Muscle Car Club and what a fantastic turn-out it was! Everything was on show from the classic Mustangs and Camaros to the rare Dodges and other exotics. While the grounds were filled mainly with classic muscle, there was a smattering of new muscle in the form the new Camaro, Mustang and Dodge while hot rods were not about to be left out! After all, they were the catalyst of the muscle car era. The weather couldn’t have been any better bathing the hotel car park in beautiful sunshine bringing out the best in all the polished paint jobs and chrome. New muscle seams to be turning up on Australian shores in bigger numbers these days which is fantastic for car shows like this. Check it out next year and don’t forget to bring your ride!

SHOW N SHINE CANCER COUNCIL FUNDRAISER 2011
Today, I decided to check out a local car show in Hoppers Crossing, located a short cruise up the highway from home and I was impressed with the turn-out of quality rods, street machines and bikes on show! There was everything from classics and wild rides through to modern cruisers to check out. This event was put on by the guys and girls of a variety of automotive businesses based in Hoppers and utilized their available space well to put on a great show, filling the surrounding area very quickly! A sausage sizzle was on offer for the hungry patrons as they perused the car show and surrounding workshops. Keep an eye out for this one on your favorite events sites as I’m sure it will be a regular show to cruise to!
Renegades at Westside Autorama 2011
Well, spring is finally here and with that comes the good weather! Sunday saw a beautiful day, great those attending the Westside Autorama inaugural indoor/ outdoor car and bike show put on by the Renegades Hot Rod and Custom club. The venue at Altona Sports Complex is centrally located for car enthusiasts located in the West and South West giving them a nice cruise up the highway there and back. Indoor allowed plenty of space for a large number of cool cars and bikes and even room for those who like to rope off their pride and joy. Outside filled up quick as all makes, models and styles turned up in their droves to check out the top quality of automotive iron on show. Lunch was provided by the Altona Sorts Complex diner with plenty of hot and cold food on offer. This is one show set to grow in size so if you’re going next year, and I highly recommend it, it might pay to turn up early and sit back to watch the parade of cruisers arrive!
Eagle’s Rod and Custom Club day
The darkening skies could not deter the determined rodders and cruisers from their parking spots today, even after continuous showers throughout the morning dowsed the Dandenong RSL car park and there is definitely no quitting when the 310 ACU Reserves and Eagles Rod and Custom club have a say in it! Raffle tickets were sold throughout the show and drawn at the end with a wide variety of prizes on hand while the RSL kitchen was kept busy with car enthusiast’s orders for lunch. While the turnout may be considered small due to the weather, a sunny day next year will see a full car park for sure! Mark this one down in your 2012 calendar.
