Bad weather saw the inaugural Chrome Daze car show held on the leafy grounds of Bundoora Park end up with a small but dedicated turnout of Chevy and Pontiac vehicle owners prepared to brave the elements to show their support.
Chamois were the order of the day although sometimes it felt like it just encouraged the weather to bring on another shower. The coffee stand and dim sim stands were kept busy with warm food and drink while the Shannons Insurance truck provided some sort after shelter. The classic rock band, Peter and the Pontiacs added some warmth to the event by belting out the classics lifting spirits as automotive enthusiasts checked out the variety of classic and muscle cars that were on show.
This well organised event combined with the large shaded parklands will be a winner given some decent spring time weather and should see a huge turnout of the GM marques next year. Well done to Ken and the rest of the Chevrolet club of Victoria for a great first event although some might believe they’ve done this kinda thing before!
Keep on cruisin’
Cheers,
Greg
