Beautiful Autumn weather brought out all the cool cats and pinup dolls for the grand opening of Kingpin Kuztums. Located in South Melbourne, the guys and girls of this new clothing range decided to officially open their business in grand style by throwing a riotous rockabilly party to rival none! Cool classic customs, rods and rides came from everywhere to take in the kustom scene as pinup dolls dressed to the nines readied themselves to compete for the Greazer Pinup Shootout photography comp crown on offer.
Rockabilly bands such as the RockA-Dees and Itchy Fingers belted out the tunes all day while The Northern Barber shop remained slick and precise with the razor demonstrating their prowess with the rockabilly hip dos!
The ambience of the South Melbourne premises was lively throughout the day as cruisers came and went, girls paraded and posed for eager photographers while like-minded enthusiasts chatted about all things rides and retro. Notable rides on show was a mind blowing custom 60 Chrysler and cool old school style twist on a late model Harley. Plenty of Chevs, sleds and low riders could be found around the old brick building creating that feel of a party of yesteryear. The day wound down with the announcement of the top three pinup dolls vying for top honours at this unique competition by Kingpin Kuztums and finishing off with a final big bass biased blast from the RockA-Dees!
So, if you’re after some new threads and am looking for a uniquely Australian designed line of clothing, check out Kingpin Kuztums and what they have on offer! Not just a clothing store, there’s plenty of pinny machines and pool tables to keep the family or ya mates entertained too! Check em out and see you at the next big rockabilly party!
Keep on cruisin’
Cheers,
Greg
