Where do you go when you want to check out wild rides, tough cars, cool cruisers and customized trucks all in one event while checking out a burnout comp supported by a rock band as background music? You couldn’t go wrong with the American and British MCC bike, car and truck show! This event has everything going for it in its new location at the spacious Calderpark Thunderdome. Bikes lined up for what seemed an endless line of chrome, leather and steel while supported by a wide array of hot rods, classic, custom and street/ strip cars while a small but impressive gathering of custom trucks weren’t going to be outshone either!
The new venue allowed the organisers to host for the first time, a burnout comp demonstrating to those unfamiliar with this growing sport how it’s done! The entrants were mainly of the four wheel variety but a couple of Harley riders showed us that two wheels can tear up the pad just as menacingly as their counterparts. All contestants had a couple of goes at the pad across the day allowing judges to decide who walked away with the hard earned cash at the end of it. A wide variety of trophies were also given out to many of the static display entrants too.
The band belted out the classics across the grounds while punters enjoyed the trade stands, food and Beveridge vans and of course the pit lane automotive spectacle. As mentioned before, with its new venue, this is one event that has plenty of room to expand and with the proficient implementation of this show executed by the American and British MCC, it’ll know doubt be a much bigger event next year!
I’ll certainly be there and I hope to see you too.
Keep on cruisin’
